What an assessment for MEACOM0023 must cover

26 assessable components: 5 elements (11 performance criteria), 7 performance evidence and 5 knowledge evidence requirements, plus 3 foundation skills. An audit-defensible tool maps every question and task back to these — that mapping is the coverage matrix Auditori generates alongside the assessment.

Elements & performance criteria

1 Maintain logistic support analysis plans

  • 1.1Review logistic support analysis (LSA) plans in line with trends in system supportability and affordability
  • 1.2Propose revisions to LSA plans

2 Perform life cycle cost analysis

  • 2.1Identify actual and anticipated costs through to life of type
  • 2.2Analyse cost data

3 Establish and maintain baselines for reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM)

  • 3.1Gather data on in-service RAM
  • 3.2Review data against established baselines and initiate action to deal with deviations from established baselines

4 Revise LSA record data

  • 4.1Analyse LSA parameters using current data
  • 4.2Enter analysis results in the LSA record

5 Manage data

  • 5.1Develop and manage technical data management system according to contractual and regulatory requirements
  • 5.2Monitor relevance of technical data and initiate amendment action where necessary
  • 5.3Apply and support logistic support management information systems

Performance evidence

  • There must be evidence the candidate has completed all the tasks outlined in the elements and performance criteria of this unit, and demonstrated the ability to apply integrated logistic support (ILS) principles and related data management and analysis tools in the maintenance-related management and support of the following systems and products throughout their life of type and in line with contractual and regulatory requirements: one aircraft or item of aeronautical product; one aircraft system or avionics system.
  • In the course of the above work, the candidate must: analyse the life cycle cost of factors that relate to the above system and product, including: its operation, engineering support, maintenance support, supply support, facilities’ costs, personnel costs
  • analyse and review data using databases and analysis tools
  • populate the logistic support analysis (LSA) record of the following types of analyses: in-service failure mode effects and criticality analysis, corrective maintenance analysis, reliability centred maintenance analysis, maintenance task analysis, repair level analysis
  • extract data from the database as required
  • develop a data management system capable of: maintaining required technical data, retaining original and back-up data in separate locations, storing data in a manner that minimises risk of loss, theft or destruction
  • monitor relevance of technical data by: monitoring engineering, maintenance, and supply support activities, using user feedback.

Knowledge evidence

  • ILS management and support philosophy and practice
  • LSA concepts and methods, including: preparation of LSA plans, management and conduct of LSA programs, supportability analysis, task analysis, LSA record population
  • reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) determination and application, including: baseline determination and application, RAM modelling, reliability and maintainability apportionment
  • key features of databases and tools used to analyse data
  • data management concepts and methods.

Foundation skills

  • Reading: Reading skills to interpret plans
  • Written and oral communication: Written and oral communication skills to communicate logistic support management analysis.
  • Numeracy: Numeracy skills to interpret data and perform calculations.

Questions about assessing MEACOM0023

What does an assessment tool for MEACOM0023 need to cover?

To satisfy the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence, an assessment for MEACOM0023 needs to address all 26 unit components: 5 elements with 11 performance criteria, 7 performance evidence requirements, 5 knowledge evidence requirements, and the foundation skills. A coverage matrix mapping each question and task to these components is what an auditor looks for.

How does Auditori generate an assessment tool for MEACOM0023?

Auditori pulls the current release of MEACOM0023 from training.gov.au and generates a complete package: candidate assessment, assessor guide with model answers and observation criteria, and a coverage matrix mapping every component. A suitably qualified person then reviews and approves the draft in a built-in workflow — consistent with ASQA's guidance on AI use in VET — before export as branded PDF and editable Word.

Is the first assessment tool really free?

Yes. Every new account includes one free credit — enough to generate the complete assessment tool for MEACOM0023 — with no card and no subscription required. After that it's pay-as-you-go per unit.

Can I check my existing MEACOM0023 assessment instead of generating a new one?

Yes — upload your existing assessment or learner guide and Auditori maps it against every element, performance criterion, PE and KE of MEACOM0023, showing exactly what's covered and what's missing. Mapping costs a quarter of a credit.
