Elements & performance criteria

Performance evidence

• coordinate one coherent body of independent creative work based on body of research and development of own ideas that communicate intended concept.
• undertake and summarise outcomes of individualise research, incorporating: focus on selected idea, material, medium, process or technique; strengths and weaknesses identified in own work; consultation with experienced peers
• develop a plan for body of creative work from initial concept to realisation, incorporating: requirements for sale, promotion or use in public domain; copyright and intellectual property requirements.
• resolve conceptual and technical issues arising within work
• Conduct a skills and work assessment against planned professional practice strategy and in context of work by others to extend own practice
• engage in sustainable ways to support ongoing professional practice and development, including: evaluating and discussing work with peers in professional context; participating in related professional networks, associations or events.

Knowledge evidence

• relationship between ideas, technique, materials and process in art form described in performance evidence
• historical and contemporary influences on chosen area of work
• critical and creative thinking techniques and their application to creative practices
• commercial and professional opportunities for creative work in context of own practice
• project management methodologies required for creative work
• copyright and intellectual property issues and legislation associated with professional creative practice, including ways of identifying requirements related to: self-promotion; contracts
• sustainability issues associated with tools and materials used in chosen creative form
• work health and safety procedures required in relation to chosen creative form.
